5.20.2010 Naval Academy Great/Solo Organ Installation
In addition to Commissioning Week, the Naval Academy is a very popular attraction for weddings, and other ceremonies so our install schedule is split into two parts. On May 14th 2010, the initial stage of the Great Organ installation was finished. We'll return May 31st to complete the mechanical installation and proceed with the tonal finishing. The AGO convention travels to the Academy on July 6 so we're looking forward to long and irregular hours to ensure the convention has a full organ ready on their arrival!

R.A. Colby is proud to have been chosen to construct the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel's new pipe organ! The Great/Solo chamber will have completely new components, not including the existing pipework. New tonal adjustments, windchests, wind lines, structural systems, and a more accomodating layout will enhance the experience already provided by this wonderful instrument.
