R. A. Colby, Inc. designed and built an all-new pipe/digital combination instrument for this UCC congregation in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills. The three manual specification includes an Antiphonal organ in addition to the customary Great, Swell and Choir divisions. As in many church settings, the substantial choral program requires the organ to accompany singing ensembles with a variety of color and dynamics, as well as support and encourage congregational singing and provide music for preludes, postludes and offertory. All of these requirements have been effectively met within the budget set by the church.
