St. Bernards - Bernardsville, NJ |

Organ Resources Following a tragic fire which completely destroyed the previous pipe organ and the roof of the building, St. Bernard’s began with stone walls and a clean slate. The new instrument is comprised of 35 ranks of all new pipes, chests, winding, relay, combination action and console, plus substantial digital resources, arranged across three manuals and pedal. The organ features two new matching cantilevered cases in Gothic style facing each other across the chancel. The depth of these cases was designed to be sufficient to allow bringing a good deal of pipework forward into the chancel for maximum tonal egress. Beautiful Gothic detailing has been carved into the casework and the console utilizing motifs drawn from the existing room and furnishings. A separate Nave division, also in twin facing cases, supports congregational singing from the rear of the room permitting the sound of the instrument to surround listeners effectively.
