  1. Browse our website to get an idea of what we have to offer and maybe come upon an instrument that resembles the needs you may have in your Project. We offer basically every service, big or small, to the organ industry.

  2. Email or call us to have your curiosities or concerns addressed. We can discuss person to person what ideas you are having about an instrument or other service. We are happy to answer the most basic questions and are prepared to spend months or even years building relationships and exceeding your expectations on a project.

  3. We can give you a ballpark estimate so you can consult and develop an approach to the project.

  4. On 99% of our jobs we will visit the institution to get a much more comprehensive understanding of the space, the architecture, the tonal properties present. This is usually where we get to meet face to face and really start to build a relationship, and because most projects are big money items, relationships are key to creating a final product we are all proud of. At this stage our Project Manager will also be able to ascertain the condition first hand and give logical recommendations for any concerns the customer may have about the project.

  5. Our tonal directors, designers, and engineers will develop a mechanical, aesthetic, tonal, and financial presentation/contract for the customers' to study. This can be used as the complete project or a framework to build upon for the final instrument.

  6. Technical drawings, photo-realistic renderings, and correspondence with the institutions' project manager about detailed requirements in the space are made as the organization of the project starts taking shape. Room modifications, electrical requirements, and schedule are determined in this phase.

  7. R.A. Colby is proud of the personnel we have on our team. Here they will take the plan and start creating some tangible pieces of the puzzle. We'll keep you up to date on the progress by sending pictures and letting you know the status of the project. However, a lot of customers enjoy paying us a visit to see our shop, the great people we have working here, and also to get an insider's view of the construction of a pipe organ.

  8. Fully insured and built upon the experience and caring of our staff, the project will be labeled, carefully packed or crated, and brought to your institution to be re-assembled by our proffesional team of organbuilers.

  9. The final aspect of the installation is when our tonal directors voice, tune and ensure the project is calibrated for the space it was made for.

  10. Being in the organ business for decades we have built and maintained relationships with some of the best recitalists and will be happy to assist in scheduling a fine musician for the dedicatory recital if desired.

  11. When we have gone from the project and left it in your caring hands our dedication to you will not cease. R.A. Colby provides complete Parts and Labor warranty for new materials of First Party manufacture against fault or defective materials for a period of Five years from date of completion of this agreement. We will also be more than happy to continue the regular tuning and or any service calls should the need arise.

Give us a call and see what we can do for you!
