Mclean, VA
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer
R. A. Colby relocated and restored this distinguished Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ (Opus 1211), originally built in the mid-twentieth century. The instrument was carefully dismantled, transported, and reinstalled at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, preserving its tonal integrity while adapting it to the new sanctuary’s acoustics.
Colby’s work included a complete electrical renovation and mechanical restoration, ensuring the organ’s long-term reliability. The instrument was also augmented with digital resources and a new custom console, designed to complement the church’s chancel and provide the organist with enhanced expressive control.
