St. Clement’s Episcopal Church
Designed in collaboration with Peter Conte more than 25 years ago, this console incorporates numerous features inspired by the famed Wanamaker Organ. The main console—affectionately named Tabitha for the “magic” it creates—was refurbished and expanded in 2025, along with the single-manual portable console known as Schroeder. These enhancements greatly increased the flexibility and control of the Echo Organ from the main console.
Installed nearly 15 years ago, the Echo Organ serves as the primary instrument for St. John’s Chapel. It is Möller Opus 6136, designed by Richard O. Whitelegg. A distinguished tonal designer for M. P. Möller from the early 1930s through 1941, Whitelegg was also a renowned voicer who trained with the celebrated British firm Henry Willis & Sons Ltd.
The organ has been preserved as faithfully as possible to serve the chapel while also enriching the main sanctuary of St. Clement’s with greater depth, warmth, and presence.
